Page Five: “The Word Became Flesh” 12/30/2012
When you saw Jesus, you saw a Perfect human being because you saw God in the flesh.
Whatever anyone knows about the meaning and the message of Christmas, this is the central theme. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. So, in light of this year’s Christmas Cantata; in light of the coming of God in the flesh; in light of the fact that Christ arrived here on planet earth some 2,000 years ago; and in light of the fact that Christ became your Sin-bearer; my question to you is this: what have you done with Jesus Christ? Is it enough for you to celebrate Christmas and miss the incarnation? Have you shared gifts this Christmas and neglected the Gift of God which is eternal life? Is it even possible to celebrate Christmas and miss the One Who became flesh and dwelt among us? The Gospel message is a pure message. It says this. You are a sinner. You’ve broken God’s laws and deserve judgment to come. But Christmas occurred. The Gospel 1. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23 2. “The wages for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD” Ro. 6:23 3. “But to as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God” John 1:12 Now, because Christ became a man, He could and did die as the payment for your sins. He became sin for us. He knew no sin. Yet, He became your Substitute. Will you, this Christmas, see yourself as God sees you, a sinner deserving of judgment. And will you change your mind about God and Christ and sin and salvation? Will you receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior from sin? Will you receive Him today? Here’s a simple prayer you can pray today. “LORD, I admit I am a sinner and deserving of the judgment to come. I repent (I change my mind about You, about sin, and about the Cross of Christ). Right now, I believe on Your Son. I receive Him as my personal Savior and LORD. Please forgive all my sins.” |
And, folks, you can be sure that God will indeed forgive your every sin and receive you into His Kingdom today.
