First, the Kingdom of God is sufficient to supply all your needs.
Second, don’t let anyone judge you by their “spiritual standards.” Third, the Head of your life is Jesus Christ. Look with me at Colossians 2:18. “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, (19) And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.” Folks, we all know we all have needs. But the sooner you see that the supply for all of your needs are found in the Head, Jesus Christ, the sooner you will enjoy the life and the walk and the supply of your King. In verse eighteen, Paul refers to the false teachers in Colosse who claimed they worshipped God by speaking to and listening to angels. All this did for them was to lead them down “the path of pride.” It puffed them up because quote “others didn’t have the angels speaking to them.” They were above the others, you see. But their problem is the same problem all of us face. Who do you see as your Head? Let me stress here just Who the Head is. Normally we would refer to “heads of state” as those who are responsible to lead, to shepherd, to guide, to oversee and to care for those inside their domain; their state. Jesus is the Head of His state. He’s the Head of His body. He’s the Head of His domain. And if you’re in His domain; if you are under His leadership, then you are responsible to look to Him as your personal Head. |
Imagine this. Imagine if you were personally acquainted with our President. Imagine if you could call him at any moment of the day and he’d answer. Imagine if you had a special need and once you let him know what it was, he did everything in his power to provide that need for you.
Folks, that would be nothing compared to what Jesus is to you. You see, Jesus Christ knows you inside and out. He knows your situation. He knows your heart. He knows your needs. He knows your hopes and dreams and plans for tomorrow morning. And He’s your Head. Let Jesus Christ be to you exactly what He is and see just what kind of Person He truly is. In conclusion, let me say this. Decide to stop trying to live in this world by this world’s ways. Stop depending upon something that cannot and will never bring peace and joy to your soul. Instead, go to your Head each hour with each and every need and share it with Him as though He is all you need. Philippians 4:6 “Be careful [anxious[ for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” |
