Page Six: “The Sins of the Flesh” 3/3/13
Here’s the work of Christ regarding your sins.
I Peter 1:18 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; (19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:…” Folks, your sin, your sins, your lies, your cheating, your stealing, your unforgiving spirit, your immorality, your unbelief – all these were and always have been an offense to God. And He, the righteous Judge of the universe, had to judge all those sins. And what did He do for you and me? He chose to remove those transgressions; to put away your sins and grant you reconciliation and redemption. Here’s a word on this from King David. Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” And once your sins were removed God granted to you and me His own mantle of righteousness. II Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” |
I Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:…”
The LORD sent Jesus Christ into this world to be your Substitute; “the just for the unjust” so that “He might bring us to God.” Now, what is your situation? Have you settled the fact that it was your sins that nailed Jesus to the Cross of Calvary? “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whososever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” This is why we command you to repent and believe on Christ. Your sins completely and specifically close down fellowship with God. Here’s the simple truth of Scripture. Acts 20:21 “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 17:30 “… but now commandeth all men every where to repent:…” Now, the question is still the same as it was yesterday and the yesterday before that. Have you repented of your sin and placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your eternal security? If not, why not? Here’s a simple sinner’s prayer. “LORD, thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you that Your forgiving me is full and complete. Thank you for the work of Jesus Your Son who paid the entire debt so that I can enjoy the full debt cancelled.” Will you surrender to Jesus Christ and obey Him? Will you right here today pray this prayer for salvation? If not, why not? Christ has made a way for you to both be saved for eternity. Are you saved? Shall we pray? |
