Page Five: “Rewards” 7/28/13
Folks, you will receive rewards. And everyone of those rewards will be judged in truth. And they will be based upon whether you did what you did with “heart” or merely “half-heartedly.”
The LORD Jesus is your example. Yes, He suffered. Yes, He had a difficult life. Yes, He was crucified after having done right every day of his life. Yes, He was despised and rejected. Yes, He learned obedience through the things which He suffered. Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” But He did so with joy. He knew who His Father was. He knew also that His Father was fully aware of every single thing said or done to Him. Yet, the LORD’s joy kept Him going even to the death of the Cross. Folks, the LORD is a God of pure motives. He knows your heart very well. And He will not make a mistake when He judges you. First, the basis and the basics of rewards is found in your obedience. Second, true obedience grows into a pure motivation. Third, whatever you do, do it with a heart of joy. Fourth, and finally, God is no respecter of persons. (25) “But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” To be a respecter of persons is to treat one person differently than another; to treat one person better than He treats someone else. God will always truthfully analyze your motives and judge you accordingly. Make no mistake about it. |
If you’ve been prone to doing things with a wrong heart, correct it. You stand and fall before Him. Let Him have His way with you right now. By the way, these four things; when you apply your heart to them, as the Holy Spirit requires you do, you will find tremendous freedom in your walk with the LORD.
Then, go out and serve others with a Biblical heart; one that trusts in the LORD completely. Colossians 3:22 “Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: (23) And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (24) Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. (25) But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” In conclusion, then, what are you going to do this week? Are you going to abide in God’s word or will you reject His word in favor of your own ideas and plans? Here’s the prayer of submission. Christian, look to the Holy Spirit to enable you to obey Him. He will provide you with the power to obey. Let Him lead you as you serve people this week. Pray this prayer of surrender each day this week. Make it yours. Pray it throughout the day. “LORD, right now I submit all that I am and have to you; my spirit, my soul, my body, my time, possessions. Do with me whatever is the most pleasing to You. Work out Your blessed will upon me today. Amen.” Shall we pray? |
